The Nevada Statewide Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Coalition invites you this fall to Camp Discover: Explore What Matters for our campers. It will be a day filled with community, support, activities, and powerful presentations focused on maternal, child, baby, and family related topics.
The Nevada Statewide MCH Coalition believes that every child deserves a healthy start – it’s the best gift a community can give to its children. The Nevada Statewide MCH Coalition works with community partners to advocate for preconception health, developmental screening, breastfeeding, physical activity, and more for growing families.
To better serve the entire state of Nevada, the MCH Coalition offers membership, resources and support in Northern and Southern Nevada. Together, the Northern and Southern Nevada Coalitions serves to nurture and enhance the knowledge and capacity of the healthcare community to serve the needs of families.

Parenthood is both an individual & collective discovery into the unknown, requiring immense support & guidance. With PMADs impacting up to half of all birthing persons & their families, it's become increasingly more important to destigmatize & challenge existing beliefs about parenthood & mental health. Together we'll explore why community is necessary during the perinatal period, normalize collective care practices & how they increase positive maternal health outcomes long term.

We often meet new or even experienced mothers who are overwhelmed by their current situation and know that how we feed our babies has a direct impact on a mother’s mental health, sleep, and overall wellbeing. In this presentation, we will discuss strategies to improve a current feeding plan and help protect mothers from additional stress and anxiety. We will review helpful tools and practices and resources that when paired together can help families meet their personal breastfeeding/feeding goals, empower confidence in themselves and in their babies. Families, when given timely and effective tools and education, can achieve remarkable things.
